Hello, this is Kooka P.
I’m providing an update on how my music’s been going since I started music and blogging around about three years ago.
I stopped publishing things on this blog because I believe there were more avenues available where I could promote my music and gain a bigger following.
I realised that this music blog is often more powerful than some of the other avenues out there to get your music going.
I’ve decided that this is one of the most perfect ways that I could share my journey as a musician or music producer with the world.
So, find my music journey. I have gone from being a pure music producer, using samples of other people’s vocals, to actually using my own voice, as a singer, on a few new tracks that I’ve released.
The reason why I switched from being a music producer to also a singer is because technology now these days allows people to sing, even if they don’t have the best or greatest voice out there.
I believe my voice is a great tool to sing from, because it allows me to create anything I like using my pure voice, and using a tool such as Autotune, and other kinds of vocal chains, which will help develop my voice into something which sounds a lot better.
Some of the other things that I have started doing include.. Selling my beats on Beatstars, which I haven’t had much success yet, but it’s only been very early. In the journey, and I am not making music which is very familiar with that marketplace.
I have tried other kinds of marketplaces before to sell my music.
I haven’t had that much success, and the reason why I haven’t had that much success is I believe it’s related to how my music sounds.
I’m the type of person who makes music, who uses.. No traditional music-making technique, but a go-with-the-flow kind of technique, which allows me to create unique sounds, unique song structures, and different kinds of variations in music.
So, some of my music is not hit-making music.
It’s not going to explode on the internet.
It’s not going to allow me to gain a large following.
I use this as an art form, which is a great way to express myself through the use of music.
One of the things that I have learned from my 3 years of making music is patience.
You need to be very patient about how you make music, why you make music, and also the different kinds of music that you make.
One of the things that I have realised is that success doesn’t equivalent across different people.
If you follow someone’s structure and the way they make their music, you probably will find success, but you’re being repetitive under the creativity of someone else.
That’s why I don’t like to be called a genre specific artist, and I’m a more genre fluid artist.
And this also affects how you market yourself towards an audience, as you can make any type of music on the day and off the fly and present it to an audience.
The key is trying to find that audience in today’s oversaturated music place, as well as the limited social media outlets available, which provide ways for musicians to connect directly to new audiences without being penalised for being a musician.
Some of the best platforms out there include coda music, which is very new, and I hope they start releasing their app globally, because this app allows people to interact with an audience, and this is not our algorithmic specific audience.
It just the old traditional chronological form, including streaming.
So I highly recommend people look into a code of music, as it’s a great way for someone to introduce themselves to different artists and different music, using a new platform.
Some of the other things that I have been doing is I’ve been experimenting with different doors, DAWs, or digital audio workstations.
The reason why I like to use different digital audio workstations is you don’t know which digital audio workstation works for you.
I have, luckily enough to use a few of them, um, through trials.
So I was able to figure out which one was the most best one I would put my money in.
The thing with music is, if you don’t play music, you’re at a disadvantage, but you’re also at advantage.
I don’t play music.
I never played music and I never learnt music at school.
I use this platform as a way to express myself on a daily basis. Using the restrictions of music and also breaking those restrictions in music to create new kinds of songs.
This is a basic brief update on how I’ve gone and how far I’ve gone with my music.
My music’s still on all major streaming platforms at the moment.
And I’m happy to have kept them there, so people can hopefully enjoy the music as it is.
